The Super Macaron profile is shaped to put a longer, more even contact patch on the BB, which is what steadies the flight rather than simply adding more lift.

The degree figure is the hardness of the rubber, not the strength of the hop. Maple Leaf recommend 70° for 360-460 FPS; too soft for your power level and the hop wanders, too hard and it will not lift a light BB.
