SHS - AEG Spring M120

UK power limit: In Great Britain a replica only counts as an airsoft gun in law if it cannot fire a BB with more than 2.5 joules at the muzzle, or 1.3 joules if it can fire more than one shot per trigger pull (Firearms Act 1968, section 57A). Above that level it is not an airsoft gun, and section 57 of the Act treats it as a firearm. This item, or one of its options, can take a replica above that limit and is sold for use only where the law allows it. In Great Britain you are responsible for keeping any replica you fit it to within the legal limit.

M120 - nominally 120 m/s, about 394 FPS / 1.44 J on a 0.20g BB. The M number is a nominal muzzle velocity in metres per second with a 0.20g BB in a well-sealed gun - it is a naming convention rather than a measured standard, and what you actually get depends on your air seal, cylinder, barrel and bucking. This is over the UK statutory limit of 1.3 J (374 FPS on 0.20g) for any gun capable of automatic fire, so it belongs only in a platform locked to semi-auto - DMR territory, where sites typically allow 400 to 450 FPS with a minimum engagement distance. SHS springs are known to run hot against their rating - the one published back-to-back test found them 13 to 23 per cent over nominal, and a UK retailer calls SHS ratings undervalued. Size down a step against other brands, and chronograph the gun before you use it. Fitment: standard AEG main spring - Version 2 and Version 3 gearboxes, and Version 6 (P90, M1A1) and Version 7 (M14), which take standard V2/V3 pistons and spring guides. At this strength treat metal bushings or bearings, a bearing spring guide, a reinforced steel-tooth piston and a high-torque motor as needed rather than optional.
